Shoot with Mette Mikkelsen in NYC

Mette Mikkelsen, Stylist and Blogger for amusetoamuse took us behind the camera on her latest shoots for Alt for Damerne in NYC.

She was so sweet to give us a sneak peak from the Alt for Damerne shoot she did in NYC, and do a guest blog post for us.

01

Prepping for the shoots takes some time. I bring most of the clothes from PR-Agencies in Copenhagen but also pull samples from PR-Agencies in NYC. For the Alt for Damerne shoots I focused on Danish brands and mixed it with a few international brands. Here I'm wearing sweatshirt and skirt by Ganni, booties by Won Hundred.

02

A selection of looks laid out ready for the shoot. Jacket by Julie Brandt, leggings by Sand, booties and vest by Won Hundred, knit by Envii and clutch by Adax.

03

Makeup Artist Imane and Hair Stylist Yas doing touch up on model Julija from Le Management before we start.

04

Photographer Jacob Hoffmann is ready for the first shot on location at a beautiful Brownstone street uptown.05

It's a hot day in NYC and too hot to wear the knits and coats I'm wrapping Julija in but she takes it with a smile while Imane perfects the makeup. Here Julija is wearing a Envii knit and Ganni coat.

06

Always stunning Julija in a cool graphic knit by Sand.

Our Love for Design by Us

Design by Us is not just like any other regular design studio. The Times Magazine has named Design by Us to be among the ten most successful design firms in the world, and its designs are represented in both Danish and international design magazines every single week. At 9PR we are very proud of working with such an extraordinary team of those who are behind Design by Us. Their profile and identity fits very well with the one we have at 9PR which only makes the cooperation even more exciting.

Lisette Bernhoft and Rasmus Larsson with their newest product in their collection - the Bellis lamp

The company was founded in the late 90's by Rasmus Larsson, his mother in law and his brother. Today the firm is owned by designer Rasmus Larsson and sales representative Lisette Bernhoft, and they work side by side with an innovative design team where they develop the collections.

Design by Us has some very beautiful premises at Rentemestervej

The brand is especially known for their innovative furnitures and lamps with a funky and humorous twist, but also for their complete interior concepts for both the residential and commercial market.

The company is represented through agents all over Europe and the brand is sold in over 12 countries.

Here above you can see the beautifully made moodboard that Design by Us made for us at 9PR to our new showroom.

We will move to our new premises the 1st of October and as you can see in the picture Design by Us will be strongly represented with their perfectly made furnitures. Many furnitures will be seen in our showroom, for example the Pollish lamp, the Clown barchair, the Wallhooker and the Fatbitch couch. We especially love the sofas and the chairs called FatBitch and SkinnyBitch, which is the perfect mix between lounge atmosphere and royal elegance.du-skinny-bitch-p

SkinnyBitch size zero armchair

An example of the humor in the design shown in this leather armchair. It can be seen in the design itself, but also the name Skinny Bitch size zero attracts attention and provokes. Design by Us writes about the chair that it refers to 50s Skinny Bitch, but with a modern touch.

Tiger of Sweden Fashion Show

Last week Line and Nina attended the Tiger of Sweden fashion show, at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Stockholm.

1

Before going to the airport, they obviously had to make a little pit stop at Unplugged Juice at Torvehallerne for a cup of coffee.

IMG_7012

After arriving in Stockholm, Line and Nina met up with Elin Carlson from Jung PR at the Tiger of Sweden head office.

2

Before going out for dinner, Line and Nina enjoyed a glass of wine with the two lovely ladies Pernille Teisbæk and the fashion editor from Alt For Damerne Line Hindsgaul.

3

Then Claus Madsen the Danish CEO of Tiger and Sweden and Line Kjærulff joined too.

4

We love Pernille Teisbæk's leather shirt from Samsøe&Samsøe and leather shorts from Gestuz. Line Hindsgaul was wearing

a beautiful classic black blazer from Tiger of Sweden.

5

And off to dinner they went. Claus Madsen had the pleasure of taking five beautiful ladies out for dinner (Nina not pictured)

at the delicious Swedish steakhouse Griffins.

6 Th7

Line and Line Hindsgaul enjoy a pre drink before the start of the show. Line is wearing stripes from Tiger of Sweden of course.

IMG_7011

Before heading inside Pernille Teisbæk was so lucky to get an interview with the Swedish chief designer Tine Grandahl.

9

The lovely Danish blonde trio: Marie Hindkær from the fashion blog Blame it on Fashion, Line Hindsgaul in the middle

and the fashion editor from Costume Maiken Winther.

10

Before the show start they also ran into Josephine Aarkrogh who is assisting fashion editor at the Danish Elle magazine.

11

12

And then the show began. There were so many beautiful SS14 styles, and we can't wait for them to arrive in the showroom.

For more pictures from the show look here.

On Friday the girls were tired and met up with Line Hindsgaul for a cup of coffee before flying back to Copenhagen.

We at 9PR wish you a great Thursday (aka 'little Friday' as we say at the showroom;) )

Visit from blogger Sarah Wulff

A couple of weeks ago, the talented blogger Sarah-Julie Wulff visited us, and was so kind to answer some

questions about herself and what trends she believes in for this coming fall. She also picked out some of her favourite

AW13 styles from the showroom :-)

Sarah Wulff

Tell us a little about yourself and your blog. How long has it existed, and why do you like to blog?

My name is Sarah-Julie Wulff and I am the owner and designer behind the fashion brand Leowulff. I am crazy about animal prints, which is noticeable both in my collection and my wardrobe. Because of that, I wanted to start a blog so everyone who share the same passion for fashion as me, can find inspiration in one place. I started blogging nearly two years ago, and launched my web shop around the same time.

WEBSHOP SARAH WULFF

So tell us, what tendencies do you believe in this season (AW13)?

I very much believe in matching tops and bottoms - especially with prints. Animal prints of course. Perhaps the sleeves would be in a different material than the rest, or there would be buttons in a unusual color. But prints in general is something to be especially aware of. My keywords for this coming season is animal prints, "wine colors" and "sporty but still a lady".

DSC_0936

What three items are you going to add to your wardrobe this coming season (AW13)?

Comfy sweatshirts, edgy leather boots that can take the grey weather to come and big fancy statement rings.

Perhaps some new sunglasses (I love sunglasses).

Choose your five favorite items from the showroom and tell us why you love it :-)

DSC_0943

I love this jacket from SAND because it can be styled with both a fancy dress, but also with slim jeans a white t-shirt and a pair of combat boots.

The snake print sleeves are amazing - Such a cool detail.

DSC_0940

The printed dress from Storm & Marie is not normally something wear because of its very graphical print, but I actually really love it.

Sometimes its good to get out of your 'comfort zone'.

DSC_0948

These shoes from Ganni are amazing, because they are so simple: Just a black pump with a round toe. This makes your feet look smaller,

and they can be added to any outfit and look.

DSC_0950

This Ganni dress is so feminine and simple. You can always change the belt if you want, to give the dress a little extra.

DSC_0951

This cardigan from Storm & Marie is perfect for when the autumn arrives, but also for chilly summer nights.

It has a lovely color, a good length and it fits well with pretty much everything!

Thank you so much for a lovely visit at 9PR - We can't wait to see you again.

GOSH Event at 9PR

This Friday we hosted an amazing GOSH-event for some of our favourite bloggers. It was a great night filled with amazing makeup, yummi food and great company :)

IMG_6856DSC_1070IMG_6873DSC_1074

We had Stine, Rikke and Christina from Gosh over to introduce and tell us about the new products. We absolutely loved it! One of our favourite products was the new CC-cream which is an illuminating foundation which is colour correcting to make redness etc. dissapear.

IMG_6872DSC_1079DSC_1083DSC_1091DSC_1101

The GOSH-team did our makeup, so we looked perfectly ready for a great night out in town.

IMG_6885IMG_6884

One of our favourite restuarants; Gorm's had prepared the most delicious food for us.

IMG_6887

And Serenity Cupcakes spoiled us with beautiful GOSH-cupcakes. Just perfect!

Thank you for a great night <3

New Interns At 9PR

Last week our three new interns Frederikke, Sofie and Nina started. We were very excited to welcome them

to 9PR, and to have them show their favourite outfits and style for this autumn.

DSC_0983

A casual look perfect for a chill autumn day with pants from Tiger of Sweden,

silk top from Storm & Marie, quilted jacket from Tusnelda Bloch and shoes from Ganni.

DSC_0986

For a more casual night look Frederikke chose a jumpsuit from Gestuz,

a green coat from Envii and shoes from Black Secret.

DSC_0992

Sofie chose a skirt from Gestuz, top from Storm & Marie, bomber jacket from Tusnelda Bloch

and shoes from Billi Bi. Imagine how perfect it would be with grey wool pantyhose on a cold October night.

DSC_0988

Sofie also fell in love with this jacket from Tiger of Sweden, which she styled with boots

from the same designer, blouse from Storm & Marie and pants from MDK.

DSC_0998

Nina loved the galaxy printed Storm & Marie t-shirt that she styled with a skirt from Ganni

with the cutest bow detail and shoes from Black Secret.

DSC_1001

For a night out, Nina would wear coat from Julie Brandt,

skirt and camisole from Envii paired with heels from Black Secret

The girls are going to be working here for the next six months, and we are thrilled to have them here.

DSC_0403

Grå strik cardigan fra Tiger of Sweden

CPH FW Day 3 Part 2

Blogger Tour

On day 3 of Copenhagen Fashion Week, we hosted a blogger tour at Gallery. We invited the strongest team of danish fashion bloggers, for a tour round the fashion fair to meet with 6 of our brands. Each brand gave a presentation of their SS14 collection, and gave the bloggers an insight in the inspiration that has lead to these beautiful collections. Here at 9PR we love brands and collections with a personal story behind and it was a pleasure to tell these great stories to some of the greatest danish fashion bloggers. We visited Julie Brandt, AJ. 117. Project and Munderingskompagniet, Storm&Marie, SAND, Gestuz and Custommade.

TEST: Unplugged Juice - Reset Your Body

Dieting and detoxing has never been a favorite of ours and does it really work? Or is it just a question of your psychological state of mind?We have never cared for juices made from vegetables – it has basically tasted too healthy. However, after experiencing the irresistible juices from Unplugged Juice made by a combination of fruits and vegetables we are now addicted! In addition to their yummi juices and amazing eggwraps with delicious fillings of salmon, chicken etc., Unplugged Juice has a “reset your body” diet which you can read much more about clicking on this link: www.unpluggedjuice.dk.Lene Jensen from Lifecare Consulting, who is associated with Unplugged Juice as a dietician, has combined 6 juices for you to drink during the day. These juices are specialized for you to get the right amount of proteins, vitamins, carbohydrates and many other healthy things that other “detox”-diets do not take into account. You are only allowed to drink 6 juices a day together with water - lots of water! We decided to follow the “reset your body” diet for three days and we have to admit that it was a bit harder than expected…

Line with our lovely juices for the next three days.

Day 1

  • 07.00: First challenge for this diet is the lack of coffee! The need for the morning coffee is constant and we start to notice how important coffee is to us – especially when you are not allowed to drink it…
  • 10.00: Time for juice no. 2, and it was delicious. To help understand what every juice contains the content is described on the juice together with the percentage of each category (vegetables and fruits). Lene encouraged us to drink the juices that contain mostly vegetables during the morning and to drink the juices with mostly fruits during the day. That way you are able to get a kick from the fruit sugar when needed.
  • 12.00: we are both getting much more tired and our headache is now constant. Our showroom manager, Kristine, is feeling our lack of energy first hand when she speaks to us without any respond… Now it’s time for the 100 % fruit juice – delicious!
  • 15.00: with the feeling of not performing 100 % at the office we decide that the best thing to do is going home for the day. While drinking a juice on the way home, the only things that go through our minds are pizza, burger, falafel… Cravings that we usually never get!
  • 18.00: Waking up on the couch totally disoriented. It has to be the flu… Drinking another juice that contains 88 % vegetables. 21.30 it’s time for bed – taking the last juice to bed but it’s impossible to drink.

Day 2

  • 06.00: Hmm… That was not the damn flu yesterday!! Feeling okay… Drinking a juice with lots of fruits while showering – basically just in need for something to replace the urge for coffee.
  • We are feeling much better at work than yesterday and the need for coffee is almost gone – so great!
  • It’s not possible to drink 6 juices a day – 5 must do the trick. Juices with celery and pear must go straight to the trash can – HATE the smell of celery…
  • Super good day… However the tiredness and headache is slowly coming back. Falling a sleep again around nine o’clock. A bit weird to go to sleep this early but I sleep like a baby!

 Day 3

  • Don’t even think about the morning coffee and the need for a cup of coffee is gone – Jubiii… Is loaded with so much energy and the happiness is written all over our faces. Maybe it’s not such a bad thing to detox after all???
  • Despite three days of only juice and water the only juice that gives me the vomiting sensation is the beetroot-juice...
  • We are allowed to eat giant steaks tomorrow and we are SO excited about that!

SO…

  • Begin the diet on a Saturday or Sunday so you don’t have to perform at work.
  • Do not expect much of yourself the first days/nights – you are too exhausted!
  • Cold turkey – you easily feel that the bad habits disappear.
  • Lots of energy after 2 days – such a great feeling to accomplish that without coffein!
  • The clothing is a bit looser. We did not do a weigh-in before we started but we probably lost 2 kg each.
  • Have a “partner-in-crime” for this project. It’s always a huge help to have someone that understands what you are going through ;)

foto[3]

This is not the last time for us to follow the “reset your body” diet. It feels so nice to treat your body well and actually feel that it helps – both for body and mind!We might just go out and “destroy” our healthy way of life with some vine and great steaks over the weekend – but hey, nobody’s perfect – right? ;)Please write us if you have any questions about this diet!Lots of kissesNina and Line

New York City Guide

Ulrik Hedegaard Christiansen is a fashion and PR-hotshot in New York. He's been working with stars like Helena Christensen, Patricia Field and Camilla Stærk. We've asked him out about his favorite spots in New York to give you the perfect New Yorker-guide.

Tell us a bit about what you do as a profession in New York?

I have an agency called VIA NYC. We are a Creative Concierge for Danish companies wanting to do business in New York City. Whether it be fashion or TV production or a design company wanting to open up in NYC, VIA NYC helps with getting a foot in the door in NYC. We advice and consult on all kinds of projects our client may have and we offer a wide array of services. Having a large professional network here enables us to provide our clients with the absolute best help.

What do you think makes New York such an unique city?

NYC consumes and tempts you with it's energy - you can feel it when you get here. I have been here 17 years and I still feel it. There is no other city like it in the world.

The diversity of people, the architecture from amazing colossal to plain ugly, the choices of where to eat, drink or dance - you could choose a new wine bar every night. The fact that NYC has so many different neighborhoods in such a concentrated space is truly unique and thrilling, they change from one street to the next.

What is your favorite area in New York?

I am a downtown guy for sure! Anything below 23rd Street. I particularly love my hood of Noho, which is squeezed right in between Nolita, East Village, Lower East Side & SoHo. It's full of small unique boutiques on tree lined streets. In contrast you have the Bowery which is a very old street founded by the Dutch, it used to be a somber avenue with kitchen & restaurant supply stores. Now it's a bustling street with galleries, small designer hotels and some of NYC's best restaurants. But I also love West Chelsea or TriBeCa. Williamsburg in Brooklyn is another favorite, a lot of new urban culture and art is coming out of there at the moment and have been for a while.

Favorite restaurants and hot spots in New York?

It is said that there is so many restaurants in NYC and new ones constantly opening, that one lifetime would not be enough to try them all. So I tend to stick to ones near my home and as it happens some of the best ones are around there. I love the Moroccan food at Cafe Magador on East 8th Street, I enjoy Brazilian at Bar Bossa on Elizabeth Street, Southern cooking at Peels on Bowery is also delicious! Another regular is the Danish/American cuisine at ACME on Great Jones Street. Venturing out, August in West Village is a must, The Standard Grill below Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District, Cookshop in Chelsea - all organic and amazing.

Favorite shops?

At the very TOP of that list would have to be Barney's on Madison. An exclusive department store that has everything a person with enough time and a valid credit card could desire. I love shopping on Bleecker Street in the West Village with its small store versions of Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld Pop-up etc. Mott Street and the streets nearby in Nolita are also exciting for shopping and discovering smaller unknown brands.

Where are the best places to go if you feel like doing something cultural?

This is a tough one to answer; NYC is the cultural mecca of the world as far as I'm concerned and there is something for everyone's taste here 24/7. But to name a few; Summer Stage in Central Park with its open air concerts on hot summer nights with the NYC skyline as a backdrop takes my breath away. Concerts in general at Terminal 5 or Williamsburg Music Hall. Visiting MoMa, the Museum of Modern Art. Gallery Thursdays on the Westside of Manhattan. Open air movie nights at Bryant Park behind NYC Public Library watching "Breakfast at Tiffany's". New York City Ballet or Alvin Ailey Dance Theater is worth the airline ticket alone.

Where do you go if you want to escape from the city noise and busy people?

New York City is located perfectly geographically. Snowboarding is one hour drive away in the winter, and when you want to soak in the sun, Miami is a quick two hour flight. In the summer, Long Island's beautiful beaches are just a quick train ride away also. If you have a wealthy friend in the Hamptons, you can go and stay there. There are mountains and rivers all around NYC so the options for daytrips are endless. If you can't get out of the city but still need a break, Hudson River Park on the Westside is an easy escape with bike lanes, park area and sun bathing on the piers while watching the cruise ships pass by.
